Our work is dedicated to exploring how physician leaders, health care organizations and public policy can foster medical professionalism at all levels as a means to improve health care for everyone. We recognize that obstacles to fulfilling the ideals defined in the Physician Charter can occur not only on the individual level, but within an organization and throughout the profession as well.

Through our initiatives, we seek to better understand these obstacles to medical professionalism and explore ways to overcome them. Prior ABIM Foundation efforts have focused on addressing conflicts of interest, enhancing primary care and improving care transitions.
